Terms of Service
Draft for review by an Irish solicitor before launch. Bracketed items are to be completed.
Who we are
Gaffwork is operated by [legal entity name], [registered address], Ireland, company number [CRO number] ("we", "us"). Contact: hello@gaffwork.ie.
Who can use Gaffwork
Gaffwork is a business service for tradespeople and building businesses. Every account is a business account (sole trader or company), and you confirm you use it for your trade, not as a consumer.
What Gaffwork does
Gaffwork shows public planning information, lets you keep a price book, draft and finalise quotes, track jobs in a pipeline, keep notes on architects and agents, and receive alerts and briefings. You can use it through ChatGPT, Claude, and our website.
Planning information comes from public sources and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. Always check the council's own file before relying on it. Quotes are calculated only from the rates you enter; you are responsible for checking every quote before you send it to anyone.
How you must not use Gaffwork
- You must not use Gaffwork, or any information from it, to send marketing to people who applied for planning permission, or to contact them in any way they have not invited.
- You must not scrape, resell or bulk-export planning information from Gaffwork.
- You must not use Gaffwork in a way that breaks the law, including data protection law.
Fees
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce fees for all or part of the Service in the future, in order to cover the costs of operating, hosting and developing it. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email and in the Service before any fee applies to your account. Fees will not apply retrospectively. If you do not wish to pay, you may stop using the Service and export your data at any time, and no fee will be charged unless you actively subscribe. Users registered before the date fees are first announced will receive the founding-member discount described on our pricing page.
If a fee is introduced and you choose not to pay, your account becomes read-only for your own data. Nothing is deleted for 12 months.
Your data
Your price book, quotes, pipeline, notes and customer details belong to you. You can export them at any time. For customer personal data you enter, you are the controller and we act as your processor under the data processing terms in Schedule 1 [to be attached].
Availability and changes
We aim to keep Gaffwork available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may change or withdraw features; we will tell you in advance about changes that materially reduce what you can do.
Liability
[Limitation of liability clause, to be drafted by the solicitor, appropriate to a free business service.]
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We delete your data 30 days after closure, after giving you the chance to export it. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
